- Rinse well with saline or clean water and remove all grit.
- Cover with a clean dressing; change it daily or when wet.
- Keep out of the sea and pools until it has closed.
- Check your tetanus vaccine is up to date (booster every 10 years).

- Bleeding that won't stop after 10 minutes of pressure
